Where it all began

Without mindfulness, I wouldn't have coped with the death of Brianna. I still wasn't OK of course, but practising mindfulness gave me a respite to the grief I was feeling. It made me see the beauty in every day when looking at the cherry blossoms and pink skies. Mindfulness got me and my family through the hardest time of my life.
I wanted something positive to come out of this tragedy, so the campaign was started to raise funds for the Mindfulness In Schools Project (MISP) as we wanted to get teachers in Warrington trained to teach mindfulness to children. The goal was to make Warrington the beacon town before rolling it it out across the UK.
At 6am, we gathered at the Halliwell Jones stadium and appeared on Good Morning Britain for the first time to launch the Peace in Mind UK campaign.
Warrington Wolves were playing Saints that day so we set up a stall with flyers about the campaign. Wolfie wore a Peace and Mind UK t-shirt, as did Danny Walker who is the anti-knife crime ambassador for the club. We did a talk about the project and told everyone the vision - this was the first step in spreading the word about the power of mindfulness and how we can help our young people.
